Updating indiana opensolaris
Open Indiana is appropriate for desktop or server use and features the GNOME desktop environment as well as several nice desktop applications.
We’ve purchased a few IBM X3650-M3 servers, to be used as new storageservers with Solaris and ZFS.
If you’re in the same situation as I, you’ll (eventually) see a notification that no driver can be found for an ‘LSI Logic Mega RAID SAS 9250’.
The IBM M1015 is actually a rebranded LSI-controller.
Insert CD with text-install, reboot the server and let it boot from CD (if it doesn’t, reset the u EFI-BIOS to defaults, but enable ‘Legacy Only’ in the Boot Manager).
Napp-it includes two precompiled io::tty binaries (for Omni OS) and evaluates the working one if none of them work with your Hipster release- delete the included in /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/CGI/auto/IO/ and /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/CGI/IO/ - Install from Cpan other option After installation, you will find the compiled io::tty binaries under /root or in the Perl directory.
You can replace the files in /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/CGI/auto/IO/ and /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/CGI/IO/ with the proper ones.
I’m not sure what ‘Legacy Only’ does, but it needs to be enabled, together with (in my case) ‘Disk 0’ and probably ‘Disk 1’ if I want to boot from the ZFS-mirrored root-disks.
